The superstitions are beliefs that people have and are present in cultures around the world and can originate from religion or from life coincidence situations. Many people have not believed in this or disagree.. The cultures are differents and this ideas cangued according the place. 

for example: 

Germany 

In Germany you cannot congratulate a person before the actual date of their birthday. because according to them the demons believe that they listen to good wishes and would do everything possible so that they do not come true.

Italy

According to the Italian, when you spill wine, you should apply it with your right hand to your neck to have good luck.

Japan

As in Colombia with black cats, seeing or listening to an owl in Egypt is bad luck and attracts bad news.

Holland

In Holland singing at the table means that you are singing to the devil, which is obviously very unlucky.

Colombia

In Colombia there is a belief that if you open an umbrella inside a place they will have bad luck or the roof will fall. 

I believe that superstitions are still ideas which we give a value to not lose the feeling of faith in something.
